A Message from Rebecca Bomann, SASH’s Founder and CEO

|
Hello,
In May of 2009, one of our senior homeowner clients presented us with a startling document: An article printed from an Internet site called Ripoff Report which said awful, slanderous things about The SASH Program. It said that Rebecca Bomann had skimmed equity from vulnerable homeowners, had been sued by the Attorney General’s office, and served time in prison.
Let me be perfectly clear from the outset: The claims posted on Ripoff Report about Rebecca Bomann and The SASH Program are completely and utterly false.
These posts were terribly shocking for several reasons:
First, during the time that this article said I was skimming equity from homeowners in Spokane with my husband (the mid 1990s), I was actually living in a poor ghetto in south Bogota, Colombia, in South America. I had no mail, no phone, and I washed my clothes by hand. I was unmarried, doing research for my thesis, and hadn’t learned the first thing about real estate. This article on Ripoff Report was not just a little wrong - every claim in the article was as far from the truth as it could be. SASH wasn’t even founded for another ten years.
I dug further and found that this article was written about other people, who really did do these awful things. Read the original Attorney General’s press release, which was doctored with our names and posted on Ripoff Report. SASH has never committed such acts, so the anonymous poster had to plagiarize someone else’s criminal history to pin on us. Visit the Washington State the Attorney General’s website to confirm Rebecca Bomann and SASH’s ethical history of serving seniors.
Second, I was stunned that someone would go to such measures to harm our reputation. You see, since the inception of The SASH Program, our mission has been to serve seniors. Our vision is to go above and beyond the norm to make a difficult experience into an easy one for vulnerable elderly homeowners.
SASH’s entire model of service is based on my own experience with my 83-year old grandfather’s home sale. His struggle with the stress, work, and deadlines of the sale inspired me to design an alternative home sale option exclusively for seniors – one with dignity and ease. All that we do is guided by these values.
Our clients and family members have written many testimonials about how incredible SASH’s service was for them. For years, we have received very positive feedback from the elder care community about our quality service, high standards of care, and sound business ethics. This is evidenced by the SASH BBB Record of zero complaints in all our years of business, and a BBB A Rating for Rebecca Bomann and The SASH Program.
Last, we were disappointed to find out that Ripoff Report doesn’t live up to its claim of standing with the consumer. Anybody can make anonymous posts on Ripoff Report, and the information is never checked for veracity or truthfulness, unlike other consumer-oriented sites.
When SASH presented proof that the Attorney General article was false, Ripoff Report acknowledged it was untrue, but still refused to remove the post, and continue to present the information to trusting consumers as fact.
Ripoff Report has a stated policy not to remove posts, but offers a Corporate Advocacy Program which has been described by some experts as a form of extortion. This program consists of businesses paying fees of up to tens of thousands of dollars per month for Ripoff Report to rebut, or as some have reported, to remove posts altogether.
In 2010 alone, Ripoff Report has been served with multiple lawsuits claiming extortion under the federal 'Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act' or RICO, with one lawsuit seeking damages of over $30,000,000.
There is a long list of other lawsuits brought against Ripoff Report in the past, many by Fortune 500 companies such as Pizza Hut and Walmart. Additionally, there is a class-action suit pending against Ripoff Report consisting of hundreds of plaintiffs. Google the term 'ripoff report fraud' and you will see over 500,000 results. Given these facts, it's not surprising that Ripoff Report offers a dismal BBB F Rating.
While it is distressing that a website like Ripoff Report can do so much damage to the reputations of good companies, we trust consumers will do their own research, and come to their own conclusions about The SASH Program.
At The SASH Program, we are proud of the way we have served seniors with integrity and respect since 2005, and no matter what is said by an anonymous slanderer, we will continue to lead our industry with the kind of care you’d want for your own elderly family member.
As SASH’s Founder and CEO, I stand behind our reputation of unwavering and ethical commitment to seniors. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our company, and we look forward to serving you and your loved ones with our extraordinary service.
Respectfully Yours,
Rebecca Bomann

SASH was founded in 2005 by Rebecca Bomann. Rebecca Bomann saw the need for a private home sale service for seniors when she helped her own grandfather sell his home. Rebecca Bomann believes that seniors deserve an easy home sale service that can assist them through the process, eliminating the terrible stress, work, deadlines, and waiting that her grandfather endured. This is the mission of The SASH Program. SASH stands for Sell A Senior’s Home, or Selling Advantage for Senior Homeowners. The SASH Program is a respected senior service that has an impeccable rating with the Better Business Bureau and an outstanding 100% client satisfaction record. There are no complaints to the Attorney General’s office after several dozen home purchases, because Rebecca Bomann insists on the highest standards of client care, integrity, respect and service in SASH’s business model. Rebecca Bomann began her care of seniors at the age of 12, working in the home of a bedridden elderly woman to prepare meals and do housekeeping for her. Rebecca Bomann continued her care for seniors as director of a small non-profit that served needy families. In addition, Rebecca Bomann has served battered women, homeless families, rape victims, recovering addicts, and teen moms in her years of social work. Rebecca also spent a year in South America working and researching in poor ghettos. Subsequent to her work as a social worker, Rebecca Bomann entered the real estate arena as an investor. This blend of social work and real estate is the foundation of SASH. The SASH Program is designed with the heart of caring and service to those in difficult situations, with the specialized knowledge of real estate and seniors. Thank you for your interest in SASH! We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
