Incredible stories of SASH's service making a difference in seniors' lives

  • Jo, a senior homeowner in her eighties, had fallen in her home and had to move immediately to an assisted living community. Her home sat vacant and neglected for several months, as her family had neither the resources nor the time to clean the home out and prepare it for sale. A professional placement advisor referred Jo's family to SASH. SASH purchased the home in less than four weeks, handling the entire process of sorting, packing, and cleaning out the home for the family. The family now had the funds to pay for Jo's care, and they were very pleased with the incredible remodel that SASH did with the home.
"WOW!!!! My mom's little house went from the shabbiest to the best looking in the neighborhood, in such a short time, you did an excellent job! Thanks again and again for everything you and your team did to help my mom and me." - Jo's Daughter

  • Bertha found out about SASH's service from a downsizing company. At the age of 82, she was visiting her husband and her 101 year-old mother every week in their senior care communities. Bertha was ready to move to an assisted living community, as her home had become too much of a burden to care for. Her two grown children lived out of the area and could not help her through the home sale. SASH came and offered to purchase Bertha's home, tailoring the sale around an available move-in date at the community. Bertha accepted and the plans began. Shortly following that visit, during a 10-day period, Bertha's husband and her mother both passed away. Stunned and grieving, Bertha was so grateful that SASH was purchasing her home. It meant that there was complete privacy - no buyers coming and going while she was mourning the loss of these two loved ones. It also meant that the closing date was totally flexible, and if she needed more time, SASH would accommodate all her needs. SASH provided all the packing, moving, and unpacking to the assisted living community, taking her to lunch on moving day. Over a year later, the SASH Team still stays in touch with Bertha.
"Your service is a godsend to our family." - Ken, Bertha's son
"They really supported me in everything, with real sincerity and compassion." - Bertha

  • Sally, a widow, had fragile health. Her family lived over 40 miles away, and they were concerned about her safety living alone. SASH was referred to the family, and made an offer to purchase her home in a few short weeks. The family didn't have to clean out the home, and SASH purchased it in "as-is" condition. Sally was able to move into the assisted living community right away, and she flourished with the social activities, daily care, and three warm meals a day. The staff at the community called SASH to remark at how much she was enjoying herself there. Sadly, within four months, Sally unexpectedly passed away. Had she put her home on the "normal market", Sally might have still been waiting for the home to sell, isolated and vulnerable. SASH's home sale service allowed Sally to enjoy the last few months of her life with joy, security, and community.
"You cannot have the process of selling your home any easier than how the SASH Program made it." - Don, Sally's son

  • Joyce planned to go into senior apartments after selling her home, but there was a long waiting list to get in. What if she sold her home before a room became available at the senior apartments? She wouldn't have a place to live. What if she sold her home months after moving into the apartments? She couldn't afford to make the payments on both places at once. SASH's flexible closing date was exactly what Joyce needed. SASH agreed to purchase the home, and waited with Joyce while her name reached the #1 spot on the list. When a room became available, SASH closed as promised, and Joyce never had to make a double payment. She also enjoyed SASH's moving and packing assistance.
"Everything was wonderful. Thank you so much for all your help. Thank you." - Joyce

  • Richard and Janice had lived in their home for over 40 years. Richard had dementia, and could no longer drive or care for the home. Janice's limited mobility and health concerns prompted the family to encourage them to move into a memory care community. However, they needed the funds from the home sale to pay for this kind of care. The dilemma was that Richard's dementia caused him to be very disoriented about their situation, and having buyers come and go would have greatly disturbed him. Moreover, the home was in poor condition and needed a great deal of work to be "market-ready". SASH's custom-designed service took care of all these needs and more, providing a private sale that was tailored exactly to their situation. SASH even gathered all the loose coins from their home during the clean-out and cashed them in for the couple, delivering over $700 in bills to Richard and Janice at the community.
"Without SASH, we would still be trying to help them (elderly relatives) move into a safer and healthier location. You went above and beyond what was expected as you helped sort, pack, move, relocate and be there in person, or phone with daily communication." - Pat, Richard and Janice's family

SASH was founded in 2005 by Rebecca Bomann. Rebecca Bomann saw the need for a private home sale service for seniors when she helped her own grandfather sell his home. Rebecca Bomann believes that seniors deserve an easy home sale service that can assist them through the process, eliminating the terrible stress, work, deadlines, and waiting that her grandfather endured. This is the mission of The SASH Program. SASH stands for Sell A Senior’s Home, or Selling Advantage for Senior Homeowners. The SASH Program is a respected senior service that has an impeccable rating with the Better Business Bureau and an outstanding 100% client satisfaction record. There are no complaints to the Attorney General’s office after several dozen home purchases, because Rebecca Bomann insists on the highest standards of client care, integrity, respect and service in SASH’s business model. Rebecca Bomann began her care of seniors at the age of 12, working in the home of a bedridden elderly woman to prepare meals and do housekeeping for her. Rebecca Bomann continued her care for seniors as director of a small non-profit that served needy families. In addition, Rebecca Bomann has served battered women, homeless families, rape victims, recovering addicts, and teen moms in her years of social work. Rebecca also spent a year in South America working and researching in poor ghettos. Subsequent to her work as a social worker, Rebecca Bomann entered the real estate arena as an investor. This blend of social work and real estate is the foundation of SASH. The SASH Program is designed with the heart of caring and service to those in difficult situations, with the specialized knowledge of real estate and seniors. Thank you for your interest in SASH! We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
